The following competition rules (‘the Rules’) constitute the terms and conditions of Africa in Frames wildlife photo compettion (‘the Competition’). By submitting an entry to the Competition, you are agreeing to be bound by the following Rules:
The Competition
- The Competition is owned and operated by Globe n Beyond.
- The Competition is comprised of photographs clicked in Kenya and/or Tanzania only and no where else.
- Entries must be received by 23:59 IST on the 25th February 2020 (the ‘Closing Date’).
- Final selected entries will be displayed at “Africa in Frames” Exhibition to be held by Globe n Beyond from 20th to 22nd March 2020 at Darpan Art Gallery, Patrakar Nagar, opposite Vikhe Patil School, off Senapati Bapat Road, Pune.
Image Specifications :
- Entries must be submitted in JPG format.
- Photo should be a minimum of 2000 pixels on the longer side.
- Entrants that are shortlisted for the final round of judging may be required to provide:
- raw format files (such as .NEF, .CR2, ARW etc) or, if unavailable, original untouched JPEGs for authentication and forensic purposes. DNG files are not permitted, unless DNG is the outputted raw format of your camera;
- full, high resolution files of the final image;
- an extended caption description; and
- If an entry is unable to be authenticated by Globe n Beyond, or is not of a sufficient quality (to be determined by Globe n Beyond acting in its sole discretion), it will be disqualified from the Competition.
- Post processing of images is acceptable, provided such processing is not for the purposes of deceiving the viewer and/or misrepresenting nature, however minor dodging, burning, dust spot removal, saturation levels, white balance adjustment etc. during post processing is permitted. Adding or removing parts of a subject, like removing branches or grass blades, softening background will not be permitted.
- Images which have photographers name or logo on them will be disqualified. All final selected images will be given due credit while being displayed at the exhibition.
- Images taken with use of live bait or that of domesticated animals will be disqualified.
Submitting an Entry to the Competition:

Entry into the Competition is only accepted via the website at www.globenbeyond.com/AfricaInFrames and not via e-mail, post, or any other means.
- Entry into the Competition requires a non refundable Entry Fee of INR 800
- Each participant will be allowed to upload 3 images in each category.
- Entries must be submitted by the Closing Date, if the registered person fails to do so, the amount paid will not be refunded back.
- Each entry in the Competition may be submitted to one of the following categories:
- African Wildlife in its Habitat
- African Wildlife in actions
- African Wildlife portraits
- It is your responsibility to ensure that your entry fits the description of the relevant category to which you submit your entry. Entries which do not fit the description of the relevant category to which they have been submitted (to be determined by Globe n Beyond, acting in its sole discretion) may not be considered for judging in the Competition.
Judging Process and Prizes:
- Globe n Beyond will appoint the judges of the Competition (the ‘Judges’).
- 3 winners (1 from each category) will be chosen by the Judges. Each category winner will be rewarded with a cash prize of INR 8,000/-. The same will be paid by cheque post the event.
Publicity:
- All entrants in the Competition agree that their images with due credit may be used, without any compensation, for the purpose of advertising, promoting, and/or publicising the compettion on our website, socila media platforms and for display at ‘Africa in Frames’ exhibition.
Intellectual Property Rights:
- By entering the Competition, you warrant, represent and hereby agree that any entry you submit:
- is your original work; and
- does not infringe on any intellectual property right of any other individual or person.
- You must be the sole owner of the copyright of all submissions to the Competition.
