Located just a stone's throw away from the mainland, Bakkhali is part of the twin locality formed with Frasergunj. And the beauty of Bakkhali lies in the vast stretch of a gorgeous sandy beach and the flying beauties up there in the sky.

Situated in the South 24 Parganas district on West Bengal, there's much more to Bakkhali than just the beach. With an offering such as Crocodile Breeding Centres, the Banabibi Temple and mesmerizing avian wildlife, this getaway has the perfect balance of adventure and tranquility.

The species found in the Bakkhali area are quite amazing and the rate of birds sighted is extremely high. There have been sightings of more than hundreds of different birds in one single day.
A trip to Bakkhali will open you up to different species such as Ruddy Turnstones, Great Knots, Sanderling, Caspian, Gull-billed and Common Terns, vagrant Heuglin's Gull, Mangrove Whistler, Black-capped Kingfishers, Collared Kingfishers, Eurasian Hobby's and many more.

Fishing, being the primary occupation, Bakkhali is a treat for people who love seafood. And it's impossible to get bored of watching the cute red crabs scuttle around aimlessly on the beach.

Then, there's Henry Island. Named after a European explorer, who surveyed the area in the 19th century, it is located up there on the holiday hot-spots. The woodlands of the area are mesmerizing, as they always are on every Globe-n-Beyond trip. Dense mangrove forests with Gora, Kankru, Palm and the Sundari are present in abundance. The wildlife stretches from Tigers to common snakes, but the beach is filled with beautiful critters. Although the island is merely an addendum to the original Sunderbans, they exhibit the same natural beauty.
