Report at Kolkata airport to the team leader by 0900hrs. From here, we shall proceed to the Sunderbans via road. We should reach our resort by lunch time i.e approx 1330hrs
The evening will be spent at leisure, exploring the nearby village area post introduction & ice-breaking session.
Overnight accommodation in a resort in the Sunderbans itself.

The beauty of the Sunderbans lies in the mixture of terrain, water and air. The climate is mostly soothing. The air is clean and pristine and a wild fragrance rolls over the breeze every once in a while.
As it is a Delta, the area is explored more via water. Boat rides are the best way to travel around and see the sights of this location.
The most amazing thing is that the boat rides last from morning till evening.
From breakfast to evening refreshments, everything is served on the boat itself.
Bon Voyage!
Bird Watching will be an agenda on our list. The Sajnekhali Watch Tower is the best location for this. A popular destination, it is also the head office of the Forest Department. It is the most prized location to view the diverse wildlife of the Sunderbans at close quarters.
The watch tower also houses a crocodile part as well as a Mangrove Interpretation Centre.
Evening boat rides in the Sunderbans unveil the true beauty of this place.
The vanishing sun over the horizon sets the water sparkling creating a refreshing environment. Most mammals, out of their afternoon slumber, reveal themselves as they graze or hunt for prey.
The ever elusive Tiger can be seen in the evenings treading through the marshy land.
That is a sight to die for!

Dobanki Watch Tower is something you simply can’t miss when visiting the Sunderbans.
Famous for it’s great canopy walk, this trail takes you directly half a kilometer inside the Sunderban forest. Sounds pretty amazing doesn’t it?
Walking under a canopy of strong grills and net, you walk among wild beasts of the Delta.
Don’t worry, you are perfectly safe. Your trip to Sunderbans is incomplete without this exhilarating experience.
This walk has a never ending repeat value to it. Apart from this, this watch tower looks a petite lake. This lake serves as a watering hole for Spotted Deers, Brahmini Kites, Kingfishers, and yes, Tigers as well!

The thing with Sunderbans is that you just can’t get enough of it!
There is always something more exciting and beautiful than what you saw the day before.
After the Sajnekhali Watch Tower comes the Sudhanyakhali Watch Tower. Located on the other side of Pakhirala, this location is where maximum Tiger sighting have been recorded.
Apart from this, Sudhanyakhali is also known to provide sights of various avian as well as aquatic species.

The early morning boat safari has something else to offer.
The dazzling waters, the rainbow of colours, crisp cold air and the fresh green forest throws a magical spell on you.
The whole forest dances to the tunes that the morning birds sing merrily. Visitors have been enthralled by the morning boat safari before and they’ve come back asking for more!
Post the safari, we will have breakfast and leave for Kolkata by 1000hrs.
We shall reach the airport by 1500 hrs.
Services rendered end here.

A trip to West Bengal is incomplete without visiting the Sunderbans. A marvel of nature, words can only try to recreate the ethereal beauty of this place.

Created by the confluence of three, nay, four rivers; Ganga, Brahmaputra, Meghna and Padma, Sunderban is a natural delta.

Located at the southern tip of West Bengal, this vast marshy land is stretched over an area of 4264 square kilometres. This, by the way, is just the part located in India. It extends further into Bangladesh as well.

The area is a network of intersecting creeks and tributaries giving rise to a dense mangrove forest.

It is also shelter to a horde of terrestrial, avian and aquatic species. The Sunderbans are bio-diversity at its best.

UNESCO declared it as a world heritage site back in 1997. Even with 70% area under saline water, it is still the world’s largest estuarine forest. Among the finalists of the New 7 Wonders of the World, Sunderbans draw their name from the Sundari (Mangrove) trees that dominate the terrain.

And where there’s a jungle, there are wild animals. From Tigers to Claw-less Otters, Gangetic Dolphins to the Mangrove Whistler, this enticing, dark and daunting forest veils some of the most enigmatic and sought after animals and birds in the world.
